The Denison firework display went off in spite of threatening weather and ended just as heavy rainstorms passed through Tuesday night.

Fireworks are always a challenge because good ones always need something in the foreground. I usually have an idea of what I'm going to do before I get there. Sometimes I don't though. In this case I was going to do one thing that didn't work out so I went to the top of the bridge and shoot the flag in the foreground. Worked out ok I guess.

Crowds were out in Gunter to watch the Fourth of July fireworks Saturday night.

I had a hard time at this years show in Gunter. I moved around a lot and just didn’t feel like I was getting anything good. Finally I just set up behind these people and fired away. The fireworks were going off in pretty fast succession, which makes it harder because you always get burned out spots.  This was on of the few that turned out good out of the probably 100 or so I took.

Runners in the 5k run at the Texoma Winterfest braved the rain that put a damper on attendance Saturday morning.  Hot Air balloon rides, Eagle tours, Nature walks, and Polar Bear Plunge are all planned for Sunday as well.

Smoke from a large grass fire in Cooke County on Tuesday can be seen covering the area. Calls to local fired departenst were constant even though the grass fires were over 50 miles away.
