In this gallery you will see a selection of photos to give a glimpse into what's going on in and around Sherman. Mostly these are photos taken for work, some used some not. Most importantly they are seen here the way I intended them which is not necessarily the way they ran in the paper.

this is the only picture in the group that I took while I was working in Oklahoma. My assignment was to shoot kids in costumes at daycares for a picture page we were doing. I really liked the way no two girls were looking at the same spot, but the backgroud was pretty cluttered up. So I burned the background down to black and we ran it as the anchor to the page. This also won first place in the Oklahoma Associated Press illustrations category in 2004.

Haggerman Wildlife refuge has been conducting controlled brns throughout the refuge this week. Approxomatley 850 acres have been burned in an attempt to control non-native trees in the area.

Danny Stevens from Fall City Nebraska gets a little help from Sherman fire captain Donnie Glenn with the fire hose Thursday night. The Sherman fire department and Police station held an open house to invite the public inside for a look at what goes on behind the scenes.

Addison Taylor, left, and twins Copelyn and Brooklyn Taylor cheer on their mom Christi in her first triathalon with their dad Troy at the Denison Dash triathalon Saturday morning. Taylor had a bit of bad luck leaving for the bike leg of the race with a flat tire at the start. she continued on to finish seventh in her age class with the help of a fellow competitor in fixing the flat.

Ralph Falconer gives a pep talk to a group of studenst acting the part of Union soldiers during a civil war re-enactment at Dillingham Intermediate school in Sherman. Even though Falconeer plays the part of a Confederate Commander he lent his expertise to the Yankees for just a moment.

A bouy that marks the swimmig area lies beached just a couple of feet from shore at Burns Run on the north side of Lake Texoma. Normally the bouy would be floating several yards from shore.
